Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus (2 Timothy 1:13)

always watching...

Sound Judgment:

From time to time, my friend Scott really nails it on the head! I couldn't have said it better myself.

Islam... religion of peace... right... sure... uh huh.

Observation:

Through the personal witness of brother Laz, a man came to church tonight to learn about the Bible. We'll call him Bob. Bob was pretty excited at learning about God and how to serve God. He was so excited that he talked three of his friends to come with him.

So there they were, all four of them, sitting in a row. After five minutes (before the service actually started), one of the men turned to Bob and said:

"You know what Bob, I'm all good, I think I'll see you later."

The man got up, and left. A few minutes later (still before the service), Bob's remaining two friends made excuses and left. Bob didn't seem phased at all over it all. Brother Laz ended up sitting with him and they had another good conversation about the Lord.

The whole thing kind of made me smile. The Scriptures proven again: "To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life." (2 Corinthians 2:16) You see, to Bob, we are a savour unto life, but to his four friends, we were a savour unto death, and that's why Bob wanted to stay, while his friends wanted to go.

Thought:

Today is the Lord's Day for God's saints. Yet, undoubtedly, for some saints, today was Superbowl Sunday. Most likely, there are many saints today who have missed church services to watch the vain nonsense. Shame on them.

"Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised); and let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." (Hebrews 10:23-25)
