The Sad Legacies of Compromisers

the error of Jehoshaphat...Interesting article on FoxNews.com:
Campus Ministry Drops 'Christ' From NameI especially love these statements:
"We felt like our name was getting in the way of accomplishing our mission." (
Wow!)
"Sellers said researchers found that 9 percent of Christians and 20 percent of non-Christians were alienated by the name Campus Crusade for Christ."
(I laughed out loud when I read that one... 80% of Christians and 99.9% of non-Christians despise our evangelism)"We were not trying to eliminate the word Christ from our name."
(Thing is, you TOTALLY did!)Bill Bright, the founder of Campus Crusade for Christ, was a compromiser who did away with any form of Biblical Separation, and eventually yoked himself and his ministry with Rome. It is fitting that his ministry, built on shaky foundation, is slowly crumbling, spiritually.
Wonder how long before Cru gets its first homosexual teacher/leader, or how long before it recognizes salvation through other names, not solely the Lord Jesus Christ.
Stay tuned.

So Clear, No One Gets It!

oh dear... oh dear... oh dear...This nonsense was on
Yahoo! news:
In a recent Q&A with Asharq alawsat, MacFarquhar, who speaks Arabic, grew up in Libya and worked in the Middle East for 13 years, talks about his book: "The Media Relations Department of Hizbollah Wishes You A Happy Birthday."
"There are all kinds of people in the Arab world who feel that their region is out of step with the rest of the world when it comes to basic civic, human and political rights," he says. "When they look at the history of the region, with its rich history of scientific and artistic achievement, they wonder what went wrong. Where are the Arab Microsofts? Where are the Arab Apple computers?"
The answer is so simple... it's seems crazy to me that the author hasn't
(or won't) figure it out.
It starts with an "I", and ends with a "SLAM".

Christians? Where?
Sunday, October 26, 2008
drives me crazy...From time to time, I come across
articles like this one and they aggravate me to no end. Most of the time the "Christians" are actually Romanists, but in this case, it's Copts and Ethiopian religionists.
The problem with the article? It calls a group of wicked idolaters: "Christians". What a mess.
How can I say for sure that these aren't Christians? Simple, those who are true Christians, follow Christ (I told you it was simple); and those who follow Christ worship Him in spirit and in truth. They care nothing for idols, whether they be relics of wood and stone, or whether they be geographical locations:
"The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet. Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he." (John 4:19-26)Rand

How History is Rewritten
Tuesday, December 11, 2007
it's easier than you think...I believe it is Winston Churchill which said: "History is written by the victors." Perhaps this view seems a little cynical to you, dear readers, but I fear that in many instances, it is quite accurate.
Culture gratefully influences history. There is no doubt about that. Consider my neighbours to the South, the United States. The United States today is pretty much a federation; that is, it has a powerful central, federal government. It wasn't always the case. Not so long ago, the United States was a Confederation; power was decentralized and the States pretty much ruled in all matters
(though there was a weak central, federal government). The transition the U.S. went through to go from a confederation to a federation came in the form of a war.
Do you know what the war was called?
It was, of course the American Civil War. You may have been confused about which historical event I was getting to because the American Civil War is rarely presented as a war for the centralizing of power
(except perhaps in the American South); instead, it is presented as the "War against Slavery". You have to admit, a war against slavery sounds far nobler than a war to centralize governmental power. That's why the victors, the Northern States, when they wrote their history books, made sure to speak highly of the Federalist good-guys freeing the Southern slaves in the great and noble, American Civil War.
Not too shocking, not too surprising. We have to forget the fact that slavery was alive and well decades after the Civil War and we kind of have to ignore the pervasive systemic racism which went on for a century after the Civil War, but that's just details...
Fast forward to the present, and nothing much has changed. History is still being written by the victors, and now, things have gone even further: history is being re-written. Consider this piece of
TRASH.
We now live in a day where the Lord my God is a foolish imagination; an imagination that has no place in public life. An undesirable philosophy which not only needs to disappear in the present and future, but one that needs be maligned in history as well; and this "historian", James Simpson, doesn't disappoint
(he will surely win some applause from the Papacy for this nonsense). Consider some of his folly:
"... being able to read the sometimes frightening set of moral codes spelled out in the Bible scared many literate Englishmen into following it to the letter."
Oh my... following the Bible to the letter!!! Loving God with all heart, mind, and soul, and loving your neighbour as yourself... MAKE IT STOP!!! PLEASE!!!
"Reading became a tightrope of terror across an abyss of predestination," said Simpson, author of "Burning to Read: English Fundamentalism and its Reformation Opponents."
"It was destructive for [Protestants], because it did not invite freedom but rather fear of misinterpretation and damnation," Simpson said.
Yes, because everyone knows that true Christians who follow the Bible soon realize that
they are mindless robots going to Heaven, and everyone else are mindless robots going to Hell..."Persecution and paranoia became the norm, Simpson said, as the new Protestants feared damnation if they didn't interpret the book properly."
Strange, when I read historical accounts of revivals throughout Europe and the New World, I read of taverns closing, hospitals and schools opening, and people enjoying God and being kindly affectionate to one another. I read of people being assured of eternal life, not a fear of death. Do I discount that there may have been some who were paranoid, or those who did persecute/act wickedly towards others? Not at all, but these were not the norm of true Biblical revivals. Do I deny that Christians feared God in high measure during the reformation and subsequent revivals? I do not! I only wish that fear, a true an honest fear of God, still existed in our society today.
"The rise of fundamentalist interpretations during the English Reformation can be used to understand the global political situation today and the growth of Islamic extremism, Simpson said as an example."
"Very definitely, we see the same phenomenon: newly literate people claiming that the sacred text speaks for itself, and legitimates violence and repression," Simpson said, "and the same is also true of Christian fundamentalists."
These two quotes are absolutely precious. I mean, I couldn't have made these up if I tried. I have but one question for Mr. Simpson: I would like for him to show me, in history, where Christian fundamentalists
(that is, those who adhered literally to the doctrines of Scripture), walked into marketplaces with weapons to slaughter innocent blood. I would like for him to show me how "Christian extremism", which he claims existed during and after the Reformation
(in high enough numbers to justify his generalizations), is at all comparable to the violent and downright evil acts of Islamic extremists in our day, and those of the past.
Perhaps some here would like to bring the Crusades as an example. Problem is, the Crusades were instituted and directed by Romanism, not Biblical fundamentalism; and if I'm not mistaken, the Crusades were well over by the days of the Reformation.
Here are the historical facts, dear readers:
-Biblical, fundamental Christianity took the fear of death and Hell out of God's people everywhere by giving the masses the very Word of God. No longer would death and Hell be used as instruments of extortion.
-Biblical, fundamental Christianity was and is the source of the strength of the West. Education, culture, medicine, social benevolence... all these and more have thrived when rooted in Biblical Christianity. The dark ages ended for the West when the Bible was given to the people. The Lord Jesus Christ said: "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free", and that's exactly what happened.
-Biblical, fundamental Christianity was and is the source of true international works of compassion
(ex.: relief efforts).
-Any study of history and geography clearly shows the significant benefit of Biblical, fundamental Christianity in the world. Where it is absent, there is but confusion and darkness. Where it thrives
(or has thrived), progress and prosperity can clearly be seen.
-Contrary to the assertions of Mr. Simpson and Rosie O'Donnell, Fundamental Christianity and fundamental Islam are quite opposite in faith and practice. Where there are Christian fundamentalists, there is freedom, tolerance, grace and mercy. Where there is fundamental Islam, there is repression, intolerance, viciousness and violence. Again, a quick overview of recent history and the 11 o'clock news tonight will prove this point.
It is truly a sad thing to watch the spiritual demise of the West; when our "learned men" run foolishly against God, despite all the evidence that following the Almighty is life and peace and knowledge. It's sad to see all the progress made, all the blessings we have enjoyed, being credited to fortune, and not to the the One who deserves praise and glory. It is sad to see that the victors today, are the ungodly.
Actually, it's downright sickening.

And the children of the West did evil in the sight of the LORD, and served Secularism and Heathenism: and they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, which brought them out heathen darkness, and followed other gods, of the gods of the people that were round about them, and bowed themselves unto them, and provoked the LORD to anger. Saying It Doesn't Make It So
Tuesday, July 10, 2007
no matter how many people say it...
The Earth is flat.Man and apes have a common ancestor.Baby formula is healthier for infants than breast milk.Negroes are an inferior form of humanity. At one time or another, all the above statements were widely accepted by a large portion of our world's population. Actually, many still profess to believe at least two of the above statements at the present time, but as the title of this post declares: saying it doesn't make it so.
That's the phrase that came into my mind as I read
this article outlining more folly coming out of Vatican City. Consider, some of the points in this
"Responses to some Questions Regarding Certain Aspects of the Doctrine on the Church":
"'This one Church of Christ, which we confess in the Creed as one, holy, catholic and apostolic. ... This Church, constituted and organized in this world as a society, subsists in the Catholic Church, governed by the successor of Peter and the Bishops in communion with him'."
"...the word 'subsists' can only be attributed to the Catholic Church alone precisely because it refers to the mark of unity that we profess in the symbols of the faith (I believe... in the 'one' Church); and this 'one' Church subsists in the Catholic Church."
"'It follows that these separated churches and Communities, though we believe they suffer from defects, are deprived neither of significance nor importance in the mystery of salvation. In fact the Spirit of Christ has not refrained from using them as instruments of salvation, whose value derives from that fullness of grace and of truth which has been entrusted to the Catholic Church.'"
Now in case you are not following what the significance of this wordy nonsense is, let me explain. In the above statements, Rome affirms that it is the only legitimate "Church" in the world and every other denomination are defective. They can still be used of the Lord, but still if and when that happens, it is still all thanks to Romanism... somehow. The document doesn't end it there, it continues to speak on the subject of these defects:
"According to Catholic doctrine, these Communities do not enjoy apostolic succession in the sacrament of Orders, and are, therefore, deprived of a constitutive element of the Church. These ecclesial Communities which, specifically because of the absence of the sacramental priesthood, have not preserved the genuine and integral substance of the Eucharistic Mystery cannot, according to Catholic doctrine, be called 'Churches' in the proper sense."
Again, in plain english: if you are not a Romanist, your place of worship isn't a church. It's an "ecclesial community"... at best.
Now, before you misunderstand the sentiment behind this post, let me clarify: I am in no way appalled or distressed by this article. If anything, I am happier with the new Romanist antichrist
(pope) than I ever was with JPII. Unlike JPII, whose ecumenism often downplayed Romanist doctrine, this pope actually sticks to his guns when it comes to Romanist dogma. It makes it far easier for a child of God to see the wickedness and the false teachings of Romanism.
The true sentiment behind this post is one of sadness and exasperation. The fact of the matter is, for many millions of Romanists, this re-affirmation of their ecclesiology will further harden them against the Word of God, and God's true Church. I truly hope you have noticed that in
the document in question, not one Scriptural reference can be found. Not one. If you are wondering why, the answer is simple: neither the Romanist leadership, or its followers care in the least about what the Scriptures teach.
It's a sad mess, but other than calling it a mess, declaring the Gospel of Truth and praying for God's mercy and grace, there really isn't much a child of God can do. Let the evolutionist believe in his "tree of life". Let the racist believe his prejudice against those who do not look like him. Let the Romanist believe that his wicked religion is the sole "Church". God will judge. Make sure of that, God will judge.
"For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works." (Matthew 16:27)Rand

this sort of thing gives me indigestion...Yesterday, my wife found this in our mailbox:

This sort of thing drives me crazy. It's the sort of thing that unbelievers bring to my attention when I try to show them the reasonableness and wisdom of the Christian faith.
A "Jesus Burger".
Can you believe that there is a pastor of a Baptist church
(Greenbank Community Church is part of the Baptist Fellowship of Evangelicals of Canada), in my city, that looked at the above flyer, read the phrase "try a free Jesus burger", accompanied with an image of the "romanist jesus" handing us a quarter-pounder, and thought: "good stuff! let's distribute this all over the community!"
Unbelievable! I've got indigestion, and I haven't even tried the "jesus burger".
Also, note the message transmitted by the flyer. No Scripture. No reference to the salvation that is in Christ Jesus
(no, the burger doesn't count). There is nothing spiritual in the flyer. Quite the opposite, the flyer is extremely carnal: free food, music, entertainment, games... etc.
No doubt, the flyer was prepared to appeal to the flesh of the unconverted. The people who have prepared this flyer would most likely call me a real fool for the way I evangelize. They would say that one has to appeal to the unregenerate on their level in order to bring them into church, where they could be saved. They would think the straight preaching of the Gospel is ineffective and would only "turn sinners off".
How utterly sad. How utterly carnal.
"For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God." (Romans 8:5-8)"To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life." (2 Corinthians 2:16a)Rand
I guess these folks would have no time for this either!Labels: Stupid

so much of it...Romanism (again):
So it would seem the "unholy father" (a.k.a the pope) has gotten himself into some hot water with the moon-god people.
As I read through the various accounts of what took place, what I found terribly sad is that for a rare moment, the pope had actually proclaimed something that was true. This is an excerpt of the pope's speech which started the Islamic firestorm:
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached".
That statement, dear readers is 100% true. Islam is an evil religion. It is inhuman in that it has a terribly poor esteem for human life (you don't buy this? just remember 9/11 and the abomination which took place in Beslan). Now before you all pass out from reading that I am in agreement with a papal speech, well consider this retraction of sorts from the unholy father, which just came out:
"As for the opinion of the Byzantine emperor Manuel II Paleologus which he quoted during his Regensburg talk, the Holy Father did not mean, nor does he mean, to make that opinion his own in any way. He simply used it as a means to undertake - in an academic context, and as is evident from a complete and attentive reading of the text - certain reflections on the theme of the relationship between religion and violence in general, and to conclude with a clear and radical rejection of the religious motivation for violence, from whatever side it may come."
Interpretation: "He quoted it, but he didn't mean it."
And, in the same statement, issued by the Vatican after the pope's speech, we have this wicked nonsense:
"The position of the Pope concerning Islam is unequivocally that expressed by the conciliar document Nostra Aetate: “The Church regards with esteem also the Muslims. They adore the one God, living and subsisting in Himself; merciful and all-powerful, the Creator of heaven and earth, Who has spoken to men; they take pains to submit wholeheartedly to even His inscrutable decrees, just as Abraham, with whom the faith of Islam takes pleasure in linking itself, submitted to God. Though they do not acknowledge Jesus as God, they revere Him as a prophet. They also honor Mary, His virgin Mother; at times they even call on her with devotion. In addition, they await the day of judgment when God will render their deserts to all those who have been raised up from the dead. Finally, they value the moral life and worship God especially through prayer, almsgiving and fasting."
Interpretation: "Following Christianity or Islam... it really doesn't matter in the end... we are one big happy religious family."
The wicked nonsense.
Dawson College:Another school shooting, another "goth". I have been told by the MSM, that there is ZERO association between the "goth" culture and violence in youth. Even Michael Moore, in his trite and shallow documentary "Bowling For Columbine", made sure to point out that there was no reason (
no reason at all) to believe that just because the young men who carried out the shooting in Columbine wore trench coats, loved Marilyn Manson and everything about the "goth" culture, there was any connection between the two facts.
Warped goth culture, shock-rock/heavy metal music, violent movies and video games... nothing to do with school shootings and other forms of youth violence. That's the line anyway. Yet, when we look at the young man who carried out the shootings at Dawson College in Montreal, what do we read:
"Postings on a goth website by Kimveer Gill, the trenchcoat-wearing gunman behind the fatal shootings at Montreal's Dawson College, paint a suicidal portrait of the 25-year-old."
"In a blog on VampireFreaks.com, an online hub of goth culture, journal entries made in Gill's name speak about the hatred he feels toward society and his obsession for guns."
"He says "heavy metal rulz," and lists Natural Born Killers as his favourite movie."
"Gill describes life "as a video game, you've got to die sometime.'' He says he is a fan of the controversial and violent video game series "Postal," in which the targets are everyday human beings completing everyday errands."
"But to be more specific," he continues, he hates jocks, preps, country music, Hip Hop, "bible-thumping know-it-alls," God and "all those who oppose my rule." (CTV.ca News)
If you ever take the time to look up the profile of the Columbine killers, you will find the exact same kind of people. But hey! no reason to think there is any relation... naw... don't get paranoid now!
(yes... I'm rolling my eyes right now)I would like to think that this shooting could serve as some sort of wake-up call. That contrary to Columbine, the people of Montreal could truly realize that our godless youth are is serious trouble because THEY ARE GODLESS. But then I read this statement in the very same article I took the above quotes from:
"Jethro Berelson, who owns VampireFreaks.com, said Gill's shooting rampage should not lead the public to condemn goth culture." (CTV.ca News)
And I just KNOW, my dumb-dumb countrymen will buy this nonsense. Why? Because:
"And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil." (John 3:19)Rand

Promoting Romanism to Youth

sooo much worldliness...
Look at this nonsense...
Well, it looks like Romanists and Liberal Baptists have found common ground: it would seem they both agree that there is
spiritual merit in The Matrix.
I found this garbage when reading a news article on the various endeavours taken on by Romanists to win over the youth to their wickedness. In the article, they showed this image of a Romanist priest, with idols in both hands, mimicking Keannu Reeves' character in the Matrix, Neo. Actually the entire poster is comparable to several of
The Matrix movie posters.
This wickedness comes as absolutely no surprise to me, but I thought I'd put together this little post for your benefit, dear readers, especially as we are considering the various false teachings of Romanism. Now some of you may be wondering: "What's your problem Rand? We know you oppose Romanism, but what specifically is the problem with this poster?" The problem, my friends, is
worldliness.
We have Romanists who come to this site, I receive many e-mails, and the plea is all too often the same: "We are your brothers in Christ", they say. "We are only looking to honouring God and serving Him", they affirm. But it's all lies. I know that it's all lies because I know them, I use to be one with them. They treat me like I'm a fool, like I'm the one who doesn't understand, but sadly it is they who don't understand. The Bible says:
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." (Philippians 4:8)
"And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them." (Ephesians 5:11)
The Matrix is a wicked movie. Even by the standards of the world,
The Matrix has received a R-rating for violence and coarse language,
The Matrix: Reloaded has received a R-rating for violence, coarse language and sexual content, and finally
The Matrix: Revolutions has received a R-rating for, yet again, violence, language and sex. Hardly "things that are just, pure, lovely and of good report", wouldn't you say? And what should a Christian do with such things? The Scriptures are clear: REPROVE THEM! Not, smooth them over by "Christianizing" it. NO! The Bible says: REPROVE.
Like con-artists, false religions have no time to stand for the Truth. Rather, they will use any means necessary to win over followers. They will use the flavour of the day, whether it be philosophy, pop culture, musical style... whatever! Anything and everything to gain an edge. Well,
The Matrix most certainly is the big movie of the 21st century, and you can count on Romanism (along with a myriad of other wicked faiths) to be there to capitatalize.
Friends, judge for yourselves. Look at the fruit as
Matthew 7:16-20 puts it. We fundamentalists preach the Gospel + nothing. Why? because that's what the Bible teaches
(Romans 10:17). No gimmicks, no bells and whistles, no cunning and crafty speeches... just the plain, honest Word of God.
If you want Truth, find a Bible-only Christian and ask him about the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Avoid "Neo the priest", all he offers is
worldliness and the end of that path is death.
Looking forward to being called "humourless" and "strict",
Rand
